About the game
EXIT: The Game - The Secret Lab is a cooperative escape-room card game for one to six players who wake up trapped in a mysterious medical lab and must solve puzzles to earn their freedom. Using a notebook, a decoder dial, and a deck of clue and puzzle cards, players work through location-based challenges that require deduction, wordplay, and creative thinking. Since components get marked, folded, or discarded, each copy of the game is designed for one playthrough. It's a self-contained puzzle adventure that plays like an escape room at your kitchen table.
Hobbli's Notes
The Secret Lab is a solid entry in the immensely popular EXIT series, delivering the same satisfying 'aha' moments the line is known for. Its single-use nature is a real tradeoff: incredibly replayable in the sense that no two EXIT titles feel the same, but this specific box is done after one play. Great for a group escape-room night at home, less good as a permanent shelf staple.
What we like
- Puzzles are genuinely clever and satisfying to solve.
- Great cooperative bonding experience for groups.
- Physical props like the decoder dial add tactile fun.
- Scales from solo play up to six players.
Keep in mind
- The game is single-use and cannot be replayed once solved.
- Some puzzles may be too difficult without hints for newer puzzlers.
- Not a game you can bring back to the table repeatedly like a traditional board game.
Who it's for
Perfect for groups of 1-6 ages 12+ looking for a one-time cooperative puzzle-solving experience, great for game night or a themed party.
