About the game
Herbaceous is a light card game about growing and storing the finest medley of herbs using four personal containers, each grouping cards in a different way. On your turn you draw a card and decide whether to keep it for yourself or send it to the shared communal pile, alternating the source each time. Timing when to trigger a container's grouping ability is the heart of the push-your-luck decision-making. At game's end, players compare their herb collections for value, matching sets, and bonuses to see who has cultivated the best harvest.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team finds Herbaceous a charming, breezy filler that's easy to teach in under a minute. The push-your-luck tension of choosing when to lock in a container adds just enough decision-making for its light weight. It won't wow serious strategists, but it's a lovely quick game for families or as a warm-up before heavier fare.
