About the game
Not Alone is an asymmetric card game for two to seven players set on the mysterious planet Artemia, where one player controls a stalking Creature while the rest play stranded explorers trying to survive until rescue. The Hunted use place and survival cards to dodge, confuse, and outwit the Creature, while the Creature hunts with powerful location abilities. Combining deduction, bluffing, and hand management, it creates a tense psychological duel between hidden intentions. It's a moody sci-fi horror game about deception and survival.
Hobbli's Notes
Not Alone's brilliance lies in its asymmetry: hunting the Hunted feels completely different from evading the Creature, and both roles stay engaging. The bluffing and deduction loop scales surprisingly well across player counts. It's a great gateway into hidden-movement and bluffing games without heavy rules overhead.
What we like
- Strong asymmetry gives each side a genuinely different experience.
- Bluffing and deduction create tense, memorable moments.
- Scales well from small to larger groups.
- Quick rules make it accessible for a card game night.
Keep in mind
- The Creature role can feel isolating for one player.
- Repeated plays may reduce the surprise of Creature strategies.
- The team-based dynamic for the Hunted requires good communication to work well.
Who it's for
Great for groups of 2-7 ages 10+ who enjoy bluffing, deduction, and asymmetric hidden-role games.
