About the game

Sol: Last Days of a Star is a cooperative science-fiction game where players race to save their people before a dying sun goes supernova. Teams send ships deeper into the sun's layers to extract energy, but the deeper they go, the more they destabilize the star. Players convert ships into stations, activate energy nodes, and transmit power back to their Ark to build up enough Momentum to escape before time runs out. It supports 1-5 players with meaningful cooperative and solo play.

Hobbli's Notes

A tense, atmospheric co-op puzzle where every choice to push deeper for reward also hastens doomsday. The shared risk-management tension is genuinely gripping, though the rules overhead and 90-minute runtime make it a bigger ask than a casual co-op.

What we like

  • Creates genuine tension through a shared, escalating doom clock.
  • Solo mode is fully supported alongside group play.
  • Energy-management puzzle offers real strategic depth.
  • Scales well from one to five players.

Keep in mind

  • Rules overhead is substantial for a cooperative game.
  • A full playthrough can run close to 90 minutes.
  • The niche sci-fi survival theme may not appeal to everyone.

Who it's for

Fans of cooperative sci-fi euro games who enjoy risk-management tension, ages 12 and up, works well solo or with up to 5 players.
