About the game
In Harbour, players send a single worker around a bustling town, visiting buildings like the Trader's Guild, the Sushi Shop, and the Pub to gather and trade Fish, Livestock, Wood, and Stone. Resources are cashed in to purchase buildings from a shifting central pool, and each purchase adjusts the market so that used resources drop in value while others rise. The game ends the moment a player buys their fourth building, after which whoever holds the most points in buildings wins. Its dynamic market forces players to constantly reassess when and where to spend their resources.
Hobbli's Notes
Harbour packs a surprisingly meaty worker-placement puzzle into a small footprint, and the fluctuating market keeps every purchase decision interesting. The included solo mode is a nice bonus for a game this size. A great option for a group that wants real strategic tension without committing to a heavyweight euro.
What we like
- Dynamic market mechanism keeps resource values shifting meaningfully.
- Includes a solo mode for single-player games.
- Whimsical art and humor add charm to the economic theme.
- Race to four buildings keeps games from dragging.
Keep in mind
- Limited direct interaction beyond competing for building spots.
- Small scale may feel light for heavy-euro fans.
- Requires careful timing that can punish misreads of the market.
Who it's for
