About the game

DC Deck-Building Game: Heroes Unite lets 2-5 players build decks around iconic DC heroes like Shazam!, Hawkman, and Booster Gold, each with a unique guiding ability. Starting with a basic ten-card deck, players spend Power to acquire Villains, Heroes, Equipment, Super Powers, and Locations, chaining together combos to grow stronger each turn. It stands alone or combines with the original DC Comics Deck-Building Game for an even bigger battle. Victory goes to whoever best builds their engine and racks up Victory Points.

Hobbli's Notes

A solid, approachable deck-builder that DC fans will enjoy for the character variety and combo potential. It doesn't reinvent the deck-building genre, but the theme and hero powers add welcome flavor to a familiar formula. Great as an entry point into deck-builders for comic fans.

What we like

  • Iconic DC hero theme with varied unique abilities.
  • Approachable deck-building for genre newcomers.
  • Combines with the core DC Deck-Building Game for more options.
  • Good replayability from different hero combos.

Keep in mind

  • Deck-building mechanics are fairly standard for the genre.
  • Can suffer from some downtime with more players.
