About the game
Sail to India casts players as noble patrons backing explorers during Portugal's Age of Discovery, racing to establish trade routes to India and claim fame as the era's foremost sponsor of exploration. With just two action points per turn, players must carefully manage a single pawn that governs their money, score, ship, and buildings simultaneously, making every action a meaningful tradeoff. Twelve types of actions, six kinds of trade goods, and three building types give players multiple paths to develop their trading empire. Efficient movement and resource planning are the keys to outmaneuvering rivals for the most prestigious trade network. It's a tight, historically themed economic puzzle from designer Hisashi Hayashi.
Hobbli's Notes
The single-pawn action-point system is a clever, tightly wound puzzle that rewards efficient planning over flashy plays. Hisashi Hayashi has a knack for elegant economic design, and this title is no exception, though its niche availability makes it a harder find. A rewarding pick for euro-game fans who enjoy tight optimization puzzles.
