About the game
Race! Formula 90 is a deep, dice-less racing simulation that captures the full drama of a motorsport event: pit strategy, weather, tire wear, overtaking, and crashes. Players control a single car using racing cards and a personal car chart to track resources like tires, damage, and reliability, while automated 'robot' cars fill out the rest of the grid. Braking zones allow for risky late-braking overtakes, and skillful use of driving strategies rewards players with powerful bonus track cards. Every decision trades resources for track position in a tense battle of nerve and planning. It's built for players who want authentic racing strategy over dice-fueled luck.
Hobbli's Notes
This is one of the more authentic racing simulations on the table, rewarding careful resource management over random chance: a rarity in the racing genre. The tradeoff is a serious time and complexity investment, with games stretching well past four hours for a full race. We'd point dedicated racing-sim fans here, but casual groups will likely want something lighter.
