About the game
Panic on Wall Street! splits players into managers and investors racing to accumulate the most money over five frantic rounds representing five months on the market. Each round opens with a noisy two-minute real-time negotiation where investors and managers hash out share prices for the managers' companies before dice rolls bring sudden economic swings. Investors collect income from their shares, managers collect fees and buy new companies at auction, and the wealthiest manager and investor are crowned victors at the end of round five. With room for up to eleven players, it's designed as a chaotic, high-energy party take on stock market speculation.
Hobbli's Notes
This is a loud, high-energy party game that channels the chaos of a trading floor into a real-time negotiation frenzy. It thrives with a big, talkative group willing to shout over each other during the frantic two-minute rounds, though quieter players may struggle to get a word in. As a short burst of competitive economic chaos for a large party, it fills a niche few other games occupy.
What we like
- Real-time negotiation creates fast, frenetic energy.
- Supports very large groups of up to eleven players.
- Asymmetric manager and investor roles add variety to each game.
- Short overall playtime keeps the chaos contained.
Keep in mind
- Real-time negotiation can overwhelm or exclude quieter players.
- Dice-driven economic swings add significant luck to outcomes.
- Player elimination risk may reduce engagement for some.
Who it's for
