About the game

Pick Picknic gathers hungry farmyard fowl, hens, geese, ducks, and turkeys, around a corn-filled buffet while a hungry fox lurks nearby. Players use dice rolling and hand management across simultaneous action selection to fatten their birds and collect the most nutritious corn. Stefan Dorra's remake of Razzia trades the original's setting for a lighthearted chicken theme with artwork by Doris Matthäus. Supporting 2-6 players in about 20 minutes, it's built to be a quick, family-friendly filler.

Hobbli's Notes

A cheerful, quick-playing family game that adults enjoy just as much as kids: the negotiation-adjacent bidding for corn keeps everyone engaged despite the light rules. It won't satisfy players looking for deep strategy, but as a warm-up or closer to a game night it does its job well.

What we like

  • Very light rules make it easy to teach kids and casual players.
  • Charming farmyard theme and artwork appeal across age groups.
  • Supports up to 6 players in a short session.
  • Plays in about 20 minutes, ideal as a filler.

Keep in mind

  • Simple mechanics may feel too light for experienced gamers.
  • Outcomes lean on dice-roll luck.
  • Younger players may struggle with the negotiation elements.

Who it's for
