About the game
BattleCON: War of Indines is a fast-paced, head-to-head dueling card game for exactly 2 players, simulating 2D fighting-game combat with hidden strategic depth. Each player selects one of 18 unique characters and uses hand management and simultaneous card selection to move along a shared board, land attacks, and outmaneuver their opponent. Since all cards are visible information, victory comes from predicting your opponent's choices rather than hidden tricks. It's a standalone entry designed for one-on-one competitive play.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors rate BattleCON highly as one of the best pure two-player tactical dueling card games around. The rock-paper-scissors-style mind games combined with full information create a rich, replayable meta for each character. It rewards mastery and repeated play against the same opponent. A must-try for fans of fighting games looking for a tabletop equivalent.
What we like
- Deep mind-game strategy despite full information availability.
- 18 distinct characters with unique playstyles for variety.
- Fast, tense head-to-head duels with real skill expression.
- Combines well with other BattleCON sets for more variety.
Keep in mind
- Strictly two-player, no options for larger groups.
- Steep learning curve to master character-specific tactics.
- Some may find the fighting-game abstraction hard to visualize without dice or minis.
