Space Empires 4X is a strategic-level sci-fi wargame built around the classic 4X pillars: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. Players build up their own space empires, researching a large technology tree, deploying carriers and fighters, colonizing planets, and battling across a mounted hex map. Despite its deep feature set, including cloaking, mining, terraforming, and non-player alien factions, the core rules remain compact, with just 8 pages of basic rules and 11 with the advanced rules included. It supports 1-4 players with a lengthy 240-minute playtime, and even includes a solitaire mode for solo exploration of the galaxy.
