About the game

Mystery Express places players aboard the Orient Express as it travels from Paris to Istanbul, tasking them with solving a murder that occurred just as the journey began. Through the cities of Strasbourg, Munich, Vienna, and Budapest, players gather clues from fellow passengers and the conductor, using logical deduction to piece together the who, what, when, where, and why. Special character powers and hand management add strategic texture to the investigation. Whoever nails down the most elements of the crime by the final stop wins.

Hobbli's Notes

Mystery Express offers one of the more cerebral takes on the whodunit genre, rewarding careful notetaking and precise deduction over guesswork. The evocative 1920s train setting and varied character powers give it strong thematic appeal. Its longer playtime and heavier downtime mean it plays best with a group genuinely invested in puzzling through clues together. Fans of Mystery of the Abbey will recognize its clever deduction DNA.
