About the game

Felicity: The Cat in the Sack is a bluffing and bidding card game about cats of wildly different temperaments hidden inside a sack alongside the occasional dog or rabbit. Players bid with mice to grab cats from the sack, hoping for good ones while trying to avoid, or trick opponents into taking, the bad ones. Because players can secretly slip a dog or rabbit into the sack instead of a cat, bluffing is baked right into the auction. At the end of the game, good cats and mice score points while bad cats count against you.

Hobbli's Notes

This is a fun, whimsical auction game that layers clever bluffing on top of a simple bidding structure. Deciding whether to bid honestly or slip in a decoy card creates constant tension and table talk. It's quick enough to play a few rounds in an evening and works well as a lighter filler alongside heavier games. Cat lovers and bluffing-game fans should get a particular kick out of the theme.

What we like

  • Bluffing element adds a clever twist to a standard bidding format.
  • Quick round length keeps the game moving briskly.
  • Whimsical cat theme appeals to a broad audience.
  • Easy to teach to new players.

Keep in mind

  • Requires at least three players to work well.
  • Bidding-based games can feel swingy if bluffs are read too easily.
  • Less strategic depth than heavier auction games.

Who it's for

Good for families and casual groups aged 8 and up who enjoy bidding and bluffing card games.
