About the game

The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is the classic social deduction party game where a haunted village must root out hidden werewolves before they pick off every villager. A moderator guides alternating night and day phases as special roles like the Seer, Witch, and Hunter share clues, and the group deliberates and votes on who to lynch. Supporting 8 to 18 players with no equipment needed beyond cards, it's built for large group deception and bluffing. It was nominated for the 2003 Spiel des Jahres.

Hobbli's Notes

The genre-defining social deduction party game: endlessly replayable, needs almost no setup, and works brilliantly as an icebreaker for big groups. Eliminated players sitting out early is the one real drawback, especially for younger or shyer participants.

What we like

  • Requires virtually no equipment beyond a deck of cards.
  • Scales wonderfully to very large groups.
  • Endlessly replayable bluffing and deduction gameplay.
  • Excellent icebreaker for mixed or unfamiliar groups.

Keep in mind

  • Eliminated players can sit out for a long time.
  • Requires an engaged, capable moderator to run smoothly.
  • Downtime can be significant, especially with large groups.

Who it's for

Large groups of 8-18, ages 10+, ideal party and icebreaker game for social gatherings.
