About the game

Infinity N3: Core Book is the rulebook for a 28mm sci-fi skirmish miniatures wargame set 175 years in the future, where competing factions like PanOceania, Yu Jing, and the alien Combined Army clash in special-operations combat. The game's signature Action Point and Order Counter system lets both players react to each other's moves during a single turn through Interrupts and Zone of Control rules, rather than passively waiting through a rigid sequence. Line of sight, critical hits, and secret unit deployment all factor into tense tactical exchanges between small, elite squads. With its manga-influenced aesthetic and richly detailed factions, Infinity has built a dedicated competitive following.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team rates this among the most tactically rewarding miniature skirmish systems available - the reactive order system means neither player is ever fully passive, which keeps every exchange tense. It does demand real investment in painted miniatures and rules mastery, so it's not a casual pickup game. For committed hobbyists, though, the depth and active tournament scene are hard to match.

What we like

  • Reactive Interrupt and Zone of Control system keeps both players engaged every turn.
  • Richly detailed factions and manga-inspired miniatures support strong theme.
  • High skill ceiling rewards tactical mastery over luck.
  • Active competitive tournament scene extends the game's longevity.

Keep in mind

  • Requires significant investment in miniatures, painting, and terrain.
  • Steep learning curve for the reactive order system.
  • Best experienced with an equally committed opponent.
