About the game

Moonrollers puts two to five players in charge of hiring a starship crew through push-your-luck dice rolling. Roll and commit dice to cards to earn prestige and unlock new abilities, then decide whether to roll again for bonus points or risky hazardous missions. Busting on a roll costs you all progress for the turn, and accumulating too many hazards can cost you your bonus points entirely. The game ends once someone completes a matching set of crew cards, with the highest score taking the win.

Hobbli's Notes

A tense little push-your-luck engine with a fun sci-fi crew-hiring hook; the risk of losing an entire turn's progress keeps every roll meaningful.

What we like

  • Push-your-luck dice commitment creates genuine turn-by-turn tension.
  • Risk of busting adds meaningful stakes to every roll.
  • Sci-fi crew-hiring theme gives a fresh spin on dice drafting.
  • Moderate 45-minute playtime fits comfortably into a game night.

Keep in mind

  • Bust mechanic can feel harsh when it wipes out a full turn's progress.
  • Relatively niche title with limited community resources.
  • Luck of the dice can outweigh planning in close games.

Who it's for

Good for families and casual gamers, ages 10-14 and up, in groups of two to five who enjoy push-your-luck dice games.
