About the game
Planta Nubo places players in the treetop gardens of towering Arbors, growing energy-rich flowers and plants to power a post-apocalyptic recovery effort. You'll deliver blooms to bee-like airships bound for biomass converters, plant new woods on cleared soil, and energize modules using your platform bot to run oxygen-producing Oxyfarms. Careful tool use, garden-bot management, and worker-placement-style planning all feed into a race to produce the most oxygen. It's a dense, thematic eco-fantasy engine-builder from the Uwe Rosenberg design school.
Hobbli's Notes
This plays like a spiritual cousin to Rosenberg's other heavy tile-and-worker games, wrapped in an unusually poignant eco-recovery theme. It rewards patient engine-building, though the iconography and moving parts take real investment to learn.
What we like
- Intricate engine-building combining tile placement and bot management.
- Strong dedicated solo mode for a heavy euro game.
- Thematic eco-restoration narrative adds real flavor.
- High replayability thanks to varied setups and tools.
Keep in mind
- Dense rules and iconography create a steep learning curve.
- Long setup and playtime aren't ideal for casual groups.
- Can feel overwhelming for players new to heavy euros.
Who it's for
Suited to experienced euro-gamers aged 14+ who enjoy dense worker-placement and tile-laying engines, including solo players.
