About the game
MLEM: Space Agency sends two to five players racing across the cosmos as intrepid feline space captains competing for cosmic dominance. Using dice rolling, push-your-luck decisions, and area majority scoring, players push their rockets further into danger or bail out before things go up in flames. Designed by Reiner Knizia, it's a light, family-friendly space race dressed up in playful cat-themed chaos. Quick turns and simple choices make it an easy sell for game night with kids or casual groups.
Hobbli's Notes
This is classic Knizia push-your-luck design wrapped in a delightfully silly cat-astronaut theme. The decision of whether to push further or retreat with your winnings is simple to teach but genuinely tense in the moment. It won't challenge experienced strategy gamers, but as a family filler it lands its jokes and its game design in equal measure.
What we like
- Simple push-your-luck decisions are easy to teach to new players.
- Whimsical cat theme appeals strongly to families and kids.
- Quick playtime keeps energy high throughout.
- Reiner Knizia's design pedigree ensures clean, functional mechanics.
Keep in mind
- Luck-driven dice rolling limits strategic depth.
- Theme may feel too silly for serious gamers.
- Limited long-term replay depth once the novelty wears off.
Who it's for
Great for families and casual groups with kids ages 8+, playing in groups of 2-5 who enjoy light push-your-luck games.
