About the game
Wormholes puts 1-5 players in command of passenger spaceships in a peaceful galaxy newly connected by wormhole technology. You'll collect passengers from planets and deliver them to their desired destinations, all while constructing a network of wormholes that link distant reaches of space. Once built, your wormholes can be used by other players too -- for a fee -- turning your infrastructure into a source of ongoing income. With hand management, network-building, and pick-up-and-deliver mechanics on a modular board, it's a mid-weight sci-fi game about building the most successful trade network.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team likes how Wormholes ties its network-building directly to income, so building infrastructure feels as rewarding as making deliveries. The modular board keeps replays fresh, and letting rivals use your wormholes (for a toll) adds a nice layer of indirect interaction. It's approachable for players newer to pick-up-and-deliver games while still offering meaningful route-planning decisions. A pleasant sci-fi pick for groups who enjoy network and route-building games.
What we like
- Clever toll mechanic rewards building a strong wormhole network.
- Modular board setup keeps every game fresh.
- Accessible pick-up-and-deliver mechanics for newer strategy gamers.
- Solo mode extends its appeal beyond group play.
Keep in mind
- Route-building can feel less rewarding once key wormholes are taken.
- Indirect player interaction may leave conflict-lovers wanting more.
- Modular setup requires some table space to lay out.
Who it's for
Great for Euro-game fans aged 10+ who enjoy pick-up-and-deliver and network-building; works well for 1-5 players.
