About the game
Secret Identity is a fast-paced party deduction game for 3-8 players. Each round, you receive a secret identity among eight characters and use double-sided 'picto' cards to hint at your own character while guessing everyone else's. New characters appear each round, but your limited supply of picto cards never replenishes, forcing tough choices about when to spend clues. After four rounds, whoever has scored the most points wins.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors find Secret Identity to be a clever twist on the party-deduction genre: the dual role of informant and guesser keeps everyone engaged simultaneously. Managing a shrinking pool of picto cards adds a nice resource-management layer to what's otherwise a lighthearted social game. It plays fast and scales well up to eight players, making it a strong party pick.
What we like
- Dual-role guessing/hinting mechanic keeps all players engaged at once.
- Limited picto cards create meaningful resource-management tension.
- Fast rounds and simple setup suit party settings.
- Scales comfortably from 3 up to 8 players.
Keep in mind
- Deduction elements may be tricky for very young players.
- Requires a talkative, socially engaged group to shine.
- Limited strategic depth beyond the guessing puzzle.
