About the game
The LOOP is a quirky cooperative time-travel game where 1-4 temporal agents team up to stop the mad scientist Dr. Faux from unraveling the space-time continuum. Players complete missions, destroy clones, and manage time vortexes using powerful Artifact cards, chaining combos through the signature LOOP mechanic. A cube-dropping 3D machine and randomized enemy movements add mounting, unpredictable tension across seven Eras of Spacetime. Several selectable modes let groups scale the challenge from an introductory mission structure to a multi-phase escalation mode. Its retro sci-fi art and satirical humor give the puzzle-like cooperative gameplay real personality.
Hobbli's Notes
The LOOP is a hidden gem for co-op fans who want something more chaotic and combo-driven than the usual Pandemic-style formula. The physical cube-tower mechanism adds great tactile randomness to an otherwise puzzle-heavy game, and the multiple game modes give it strong replay value. It leans light-to-mid weight, making it a good stepping stone for groups moving beyond entry-level co-ops.
What we like
- Signature LOOP mechanic enables satisfying combo chains.
- Cube-dropping 3D machine adds fun, tactile unpredictability.
- Multiple selectable modes offer scalable difficulty and replayability.
- Solo mode makes it fully playable without a group.
Keep in mind
- Escalating chaos can feel punishing for co-op newcomers.
- Component-heavy setup (3D machine, tokens) takes time.
- Retro sci-fi theme and humor won't land for every group.
Who it's for
Great for ages 12 and up, cooperative game fans in groups of 1-4, including solo players.
