About the game
Food Chain Island is a tiny solitaire puzzle game where you play as the island's ecosystem itself, moving animals to eat smaller neighbors until only one land creature remains from a starting grid of sixteen. Each turn you slide one animal into an adjacent, smaller one, chaining eliminations for as long as possible. The game ends the moment no legal move remains, so every decision ripples forward. It's a quick, portable print-and-play brain teaser.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors enjoy this as a pocket-sized logic puzzle from designer Scott Almes, the kind of game you can carry anywhere and solve in a few quiet minutes. It won't hold everyone's attention for long sessions, but as a bite-sized solo challenge it delivers. Print-and-play fans in particular will appreciate its low cost of entry. It's a nice palate-cleanser between heavier games.
