About the game
Sonora is a flick-and-write game in which players flick wooden discs onto a shared board depicting vibrant Sonoran Desert landscapes, each region hosting its own mini-game. Skillful aim lets you land your disc in the area of your choice to mark scores on a dry-erase sheet, while bumping opponents' discs out of position adds a layer of spiteful interaction. Combining dexterity with area-majority and route-building puzzles, it's a distinctive genre mashup. Games run about 45 minutes for 1-4 players.
Hobbli's Notes
Sonora's flick-and-write hybrid is a genuinely inventive idea - the physical dexterity element adds unpredictability that a pure roll-and-write could never match. Watching a well-aimed flick knock an opponent's disc off their target is one of the game's best moments. It's a fresh, tactile pick for groups looking for something a little different from the usual euro fare.
