About the game
Santiago is a negotiation-driven farming game in which players bid for plantation tiles each round and try to bribe the canal overseer into routing water toward their own fields. Watered plantations flourish while neglected ones can revert to fallow ground. At game's end, cultivated land of the right type and ownership scores the most points.
Hobbli's Notes
A classic negotiation euro where the bribery mechanic for the canal overseer creates genuinely memorable social tension. Simple rules hide surprisingly deep player-to-player dynamics.
