About the game

Unsettled is a cooperative survival game for two to four players exploring the strange, alien fringes of far-off planets. There are no enemies or combat: instead, players must complete tasks like repairing systems or gathering supplies using bizarre alien phenomena they discover along the way, with each planet's unique modular tiles and properties differing every session. Working closely as a crew is essential, since trusting and coordinating with each other is the only way to survive the environment's constant dangers. It's an unnerving, atmospheric take on cooperative exploration rather than a traditional monster-fighting co-op.

Hobbli's Notes

Unsettled trades combat for pure survival-through-discovery, and the alien, unsettling tone of its world-building is genuinely distinct from most cooperative games on shelves. It's a fairly niche title for us with limited firsthand plays, so we'd suggest a demo game before building a full night around it.

What we like

  • Unique survival theme built around discovery rather than combat.
  • Highly variable planet modules provide strong replayability.
  • Strong cooperative teamwork focus with meaningful trust decisions.
  • Immersive, unsettling sci-fi atmosphere unlike most co-ops.

Keep in mind

  • Steep learning curve with many unique symbols and interactions.
  • Full variety of content requires purchasing additional planet expansions.
  • Can be punishing and unforgiving for players new to the system.

Who it's for

Best for adults and older teens (14+) who enjoy atmospheric cooperative survival games without combat, in groups of 2-4.
