About the game
Ankh'or is a quick-playing resource management and tile-building game set in ancient Egypt. On your turn, you either collect resource tokens or purchase a tile from the marketplace to add to your growing structure, aiming to connect tiles that share colors or scarab symbols. Spending an ankh token lets you shuffle the marketplace to your advantage. With a structure capped at thirteen tiles, timing your purchases is key to victory.
Hobbli's Notes
Ankh'or is a lovely little gateway game that delivers surprisingly satisfying puzzle-like decisions in a tight half hour. The tile-connection scoring gives just enough strategic depth without overwhelming newer players, and the Egyptian theme is charmingly presented. It's become a reliable recommendation for players who want something more substantial than a filler but lighter than a full euro.
