About the game
Clank! In! Space! sends a crew of thieves aboard Lord Eradikus's flagship to hack into its command module and steal valuable artifacts, all while trying to stay quiet. Players build a personal deck of cards that let them move through the ship, fight security, acquire new cards, and inevitably make noise: Clank!: that draws Eradikus's deadly attention. Balancing greed against caution, players must decide how much extra loot is worth the risk before racing back to an escape pod. Built on the same system as the original Clank!, it swaps dungeon-crawling for a tense sci-fi heist aboard an enemy warship.
Hobbli's Notes
Clank! In! Space! keeps everything that made the original Clank! great, the push-your-luck tension of deciding when to grab one more treasure, while giving it a fun sci-fi heist coat of paint. The deck-building is approachable enough for newer gamers, but there's enough depth for repeat plays to stay interesting. The looming threat of Lord Eradikus does a great job of keeping the pressure on right until the final dash to the escape pod.
What we like
- The push-your-luck tension of deciding when to escape is genuinely exciting.
- Deck-building progression feels satisfying as your options expand.
- The modular board increases replayability across sessions.
- The sci-fi heist theme is fun and comes through clearly in play.
Keep in mind
- Combat encounters carry a real risk of player elimination from the game's threats.
- Luck of the draw can swing individual runs significantly.
- New players need a round or two to grasp the noise and combat systems.
- Games can run long with a full four players.
Who it's for
Great for families with older kids and casual gamers ages 12+ who enjoy deck-building with push-your-luck tension, in groups of 2-4.
