About the game
Sidereal Confluence: Trading and Negotiation in the Elysian Quadrant is a massive real-time negotiation game for 4 to 9 players, each controlling a unique alien race with its own economy. Since no race's inputs and outputs naturally match, players must constantly trade cubes, ships, colonies, and technologies during open negotiation phases to keep their economies running. Researching new technology grants victory points and shares benefits with everyone else, reinforcing the game's cooperative-competitive tension. Nearly everything is negotiable, and rounds alternate between frantic open trading and simultaneous economic resolution. It's a singular, high-energy trading experience.
Hobbli's Notes
There's genuinely nothing else like Sidereal Confluence. The real-time trading phase generates an electric, almost euphoric energy at a full table, though it absolutely requires a large, enthusiastic group to shine.
What we like
- Unmatched real-time trading energy found in few other games.
- Nine asymmetric alien races add huge variety.
- Scales uniquely well to large groups of up to nine players.
- The cooperative-competitive trading tension is genuinely thrilling.
Keep in mind
- A three-hour playtime is a serious commitment.
- Really needs a large, engaged group of 4 or more to work well.
- Can overwhelm players who dislike heavy negotiation.
- Steep rules overhead when teaching for the first time.
Who it's for
Large groups of experienced gamers who love negotiation and trading, ages 14 and up, ideally with 6-9 players.
