About the game
A quick two-player card-drafting sequel to Tides of Time, where players build rival kingdoms over three short rounds by drafting cards from a shared hand. Suits and scoring objectives determine points, while a new madness mechanic threatens instant loss if a player accumulates too much dark power. Each round, players keep one card as a "relic" to shape future rounds' strategy. A tense, elegant filler that rewards careful set-collection and risk management.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team loves how much tension Tides of Madness packs into just 20 minutes - the madness mechanic adds a delightful risk-reward twist to an already clever drafting core. It's beautifully illustrated and plays fast enough for repeated sessions in one sitting. A great "one more game" pick for two players. Being purely two-player limits its use for larger groups.
