About the game
Set during China's Warring States period, ZhanGuo casts players as imperial emissaries helping the first emperor unify the realm. Over five rounds, you play a small hand of cards either to boost your own board or to recruit manpower, construct buildings, and move armies across the empire, all while trying to keep the populace from revolting.
Hobbli's Notes
A heavy, historically grounded area-influence game with a tight hand-management puzzle. Balancing personal power against public unrest creates an interesting strategic tension, though it's a demanding title for the table.
