About the game
Room 25 traps players in a shifting modular prison where every room has four doors but no obvious exit. Together, players must maneuver through the maze to uncover Room 25, the way out, using simultaneous, preprogrammed movement that requires careful discussion and negotiation. The twist: some players may secretly be guardians working against the group's escape. With five different play modes ranging from full cooperation to a solitaire variant, the game offers flexible tension for different group dynamics. Trust, deduction, and a little bit of betrayal make every escape attempt unpredictable.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team enjoys how Room 25 blends cooperative puzzle-solving with hidden-traitor tension: you're never quite sure if the group's plan will hold together. The five play modes give it real flexibility, from a friendly co-op experience to a more suspicious semi-co-op one. Simultaneous movement programming keeps everyone engaged even when it's not technically their turn. It leans a bit fiddly with its modular board and memory elements, so it rewards a group willing to embrace some rules overhead.
What we like
- Flexible modes range from full cooperation to solo and hidden-traitor play.
- Simultaneous, preprogrammed movement keeps all players engaged.
- Modular maze board adds fresh variability each session.
- Hidden-traitor tension adds real suspense to a co-op puzzle.
Keep in mind
- Rules and modular setup can feel fiddly to track.
- High downtime score suggests turns can drag at full player count.
- Some players may find the horror-lite theme thin.
Who it's for
Good for groups of 1-6 players aged 13+ who enjoy cooperative deduction games with a hidden-traitor twist.
