About the game

Mamma Mia! is a memory and hand-management card game from Uwe Rosenberg where players race to fulfill pizza orders using shared ingredient cards. On a turn, players add ingredient cards to a communal stack and can add a pizza order card as well, then draw replacements. Once the deck is spent, the stack is flipped and sorted by ingredient until an order comes up, and players use memory to recall whether they have the right ingredients on hand to claim it. After three rounds, whoever has filled the most orders wins.

Hobbli's Notes

Mamma Mia! is a clever, family-friendly game that blends light hand management with a genuine memory challenge. The tension of trying to remember which ingredients are buried in the stack keeps everyone engaged even when it's not their turn. It's a lighthearted, quick-playing title that works well for mixed groups of kids and adults. A charming, underrated pick from one of the hobby's most prolific designers.

What we like

  • Memory element keeps all players engaged, even off-turn.
  • Quick three-round structure fits neatly into a game night.
  • Simple rules make it very approachable for younger players.
  • Charming pizza theme is easy for families to connect with.

Keep in mind

  • Memory-based scoring may frustrate players with weaker recall.
  • Limited strategic depth compared to Rosenberg's heavier titles.
  • Can feel repetitive after many plays.

Who it's for

Great for families with kids aged 8 and up who enjoy light memory and hand-management games.
