About the game

Tend is a flip-and-write farming game set on an alien world, where players work for the Zenith corporation to build up a homestead. Using a shared deck of action cards that changes throughout the game, all players simultaneously take actions on their own sheets to gather goods, plant and harvest crops, and complete season objectives. Points come from badges, season goals, being a good neighbor, and filling your Cargo Manifest. The player with the most victory points at the end wins.

Hobbli's Notes

A clever evolving flip-and-write with a fun sci-fi farming twist and simultaneous play that keeps everyone engaged. As a brand-new release, it's a promising design, though its long-term staying power is still unproven.

What we like

  • Scales comfortably from solo play up to six players.
  • The evolving shared action deck keeps each game fresh.
  • Simultaneous play keeps downtime to a minimum.
  • Satisfying farm-building puzzle with multiple scoring paths.

Keep in mind

  • Relies on paper sheets that need reprinting or erasable pads.
  • Complexity may be higher than typical flip-and-write fans expect.
  • As a new release, its long-term reputation is not yet established.

Who it's for

Fans of flip-and-write and farming-themed games, ages 14 and up, works well solo or with up to 6 players.
