About the game
Challengers! Beach Cup is a fast-playing deck-management tournament game for 1-8 players, where each round you face a new opponent in quick head-to-head matches. Between matches, players draft new team members, wizards, aliens, cats, gangsters, and krakens among them, into their deck, building unique synergies across seven rounds of play. The top players qualify for a final showdown to claim the tournament trophy. A standalone entry in the Challengers! series, it can also be combined with the original game for even more variety.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors love the tournament structure of Challengers!, which keeps every player engaged even in a large group by rotating quick matches rather than long turns. The deckbuilding-lite drafting keeps decisions light and snappy. It's an excellent party-sized strategy game that scales unusually well up to 8 players. A great choice for game nights with bigger groups.
What we like
- Scales impressively for up to 8 players with quick playtime.
- Tournament structure keeps all players engaged between matches.
- Deck-drafting offers meaningful strategic variety each game.
- Combinable with other Challengers! sets for more content.
Keep in mind
- Large player counts can still create some waiting between matches.
- Card variety may require the base game or expansions for full depth.
- Random matchups can feel imbalanced round to round.
Who it's for
Great for larger groups of 1-8 (8+) who want a fast, competitive deck-management tournament experience.
