About the game
Moon casts one to five players as rival organizations racing to build the most prestigious lunar base and win recognition as the new lunar capital. Using a hand-drafting or 'pick and pass' system, players choose one new structure card per turn from a rotating hand, always including a special Expedition card offering a free bonus action. Wooden lunar rover tokens add a light worker-placement layer and serve as tiebreakers, so they must be used carefully. Across three eras, players compete for majority in housing, transportation, science, industry, and food production, with games running about 90 minutes.
Hobbli's Notes
As the third game in Haakon Gaarder's loose trilogy after Villagers and Streets, Moon carries forward that same satisfying hand-drafting core while giving it a fresh space-race theme. The mix of drafting, worker placement, and majority scoring across five categories gives players a lot of strategic angles to pursue. Reputation cards add another layer of one-time bonuses to chase, which keeps each era feeling eventful. It's a rewarding mid-to-heavy Euro for groups who enjoy drafting games with real strategic bite.
What we like

- Expedition and reputation cards add ongoing replay variety.
- Scales well from solo to five players.
Keep in mind
- 90-minute playtime is a real commitment for the complexity level.
- Majority scoring can feel swingy at the end of each era.
- Rover tiebreaker system takes some getting used to.
Who it's for
