About the game
Ribbit is a light racing game where players secretly control a team of colored turtles trying to be first to reach the salad at the far end of the field. Movement is dictated by cards drawn from a shared pool, each showing colored turtles and how far they hop forward or backward. When one turtle lands on another, it climbs aboard, and stacks of turtles move together whenever the bottom one is moved. With hidden turtle identities and simple card play, it's a quick, family-friendly race with a dash of bluffing.
Hobbli's Notes
This early Reiner Knizia design is a sweet, uncomplicated race game that plays fast and works well for mixed ages. The stacking mechanic adds a fun visual and tactical wrinkle even at this simple level. It won't hold the attention of experienced strategy gamers for long, but as a light filler for families with young kids, it does its job cheerfully.
