About the game
Colt Super Express distills the spirit of the award-winning Colt Express into a fast, portable 15-minute battle royale. Players secretly program three (or up to six with optional extensions) action cards each round, then watch them resolve in sequence as bandits move, shoot, and scramble for survival on the train. When the round ends, the last car is detached, along with any bandit still aboard, until only one rider remains standing. It's a compact, chaotic western shootout perfect for quick sessions with a group.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team likes Colt Super Express as a lighter, faster companion to the original Colt Express: it keeps the fun programmed-action chaos while trimming the playtime way down. The escalating elimination as train cars disappear creates a fun sense of urgency near the end. It won't replace the depth of the original for series fans, but as a quick filler or intro to the Colt Express formula, it works well. Great for groups who want a fast, silly western showdown.
What we like
- Fast 15-minute playtime makes it a great filler game.
- Programmed-action mechanic builds fun anticipation and chaos.
- Portable and quick to teach to new players.
- Player elimination raises tension as the round progresses.
- Captures the spirit of Colt Express in a lighter package.
Keep in mind
- Eliminated players must wait out the rest of the round.
- Hidden programmed actions and memory can be swingy.
- Less strategic depth than the original Colt Express.
- Works best with a fuller table to feel truly exciting.
Who it's for
Great for families and casual groups who enjoy fast, chaotic filler games, ages 7-8 and up, in groups of 3-7.
