About the game

SCOUT is a clever ladder-climbing card game where each card has two different values, and players are never allowed to rearrange their hand. On your turn, you either play a set of cards that beats what's on the table or scout a card from that set into your own hand, rotating it if needed. Every choice matters since you can't reorder your cards, forcing tough calls about timing and structure. It's a small box with big brain-burning tension in a lightning-fast play time.

Hobbli's Notes

SCOUT is a masterclass in elegant design: wringing an enormous amount of tension out of a simple deck of double-sided number cards. The rule against rearranging your hand transforms a normal ladder-climbing game into a fascinating puzzle. It's easy to teach, plays in about twenty minutes, and rewards repeat plays with new depth.
