About the game

Oriflamme drops players into a medieval feud over the French throne, where hidden character cards are secretly placed and then revealed one at a time to trigger powerful effects. Each round you must decide whether to activate your card early for a strong effect or leave it face down for a weaker but safer one, all while reading your rivals' bluffs. With betrayal, hidden agendas, and rapidly shifting alliances, the goal is simply to accumulate the most influence for your family. It's a tight 30-minute card game dripping with political intrigue.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editorial team loves how much tension Oriflamme squeezes out of such a small box: every card flip can flip the entire game state. The bluffing and turn-order manipulation reward careful reading of opponents more than raw strategy. It's a fantastic quick, cutthroat filler for gamers who enjoy a bit of backstabbing.

What we like

  • Extremely tight, tension-filled 30-minute playtime.
  • Clever action-queue bluffing mechanism.
  • High replayability with different card combinations each game.
  • Portable small-box card game.

Keep in mind

  • Can feel chaotic and swingy for players who prefer control.
  • Best experienced with a full table of 4-5, less exciting at 3.
