About the game
Ticket to Ride: London scales down the beloved train-route franchise into a bite-sized bus game set across 1970s London, playable start to finish in about 15 minutes. Players collect transportation cards, claim routes with double-decker buses, and complete destination tickets, just like the classic series: but on a much smaller, faster map. Scoring rewards completed routes, fulfilled tickets, and fully connected districts, while incomplete tickets cost points at the end. Its short length makes it an ideal light opener, closer, or gateway into the Ticket to Ride family. Two to four players can enjoy a full game in the time it takes to brew a pot of tea.
Hobbli's Notes
We think Ticket to Ride: London is a smart entry point into the series: it keeps the addictive route-claiming and ticket-completion loop while trimming the playtime to a true quick filler. Its small map makes route conflicts feel immediate and personal, which sharpens the tension despite the short length. It doesn't have the scope of the larger Ticket to Ride maps, but that's exactly the point. A great choice for travel or as a warm-up before a heavier game night.
What we like
- Extremely quick playtime of about 15 minutes.
- Retains the addictive route-and-ticket-completion loop of the series.
- Easy to teach to new or young players.
- Compact size makes it great for travel.
Keep in mind
- Smaller map offers less strategic depth than full-size Ticket to Ride games.
- May feel too light for experienced route-building gamers.
- Limited player count compared to some other entries in the series.
Who it's for
Perfect for families and new gamers aged 6+ wanting a fast, approachable train/route game, ideal for groups of 2-4.
