About the game

In Draftosaurus, players draft dinosaur meeples and place them into pens in their personal dino park, trying to build the layout most likely to attract visitors. Each turn a die roll adds a placement restriction that affects where every other player (but not the roller) can place their next dinosaur, keeping everyone reacting to shifting constraints. It's a light, fast drafting game with simple rules but surprisingly clever spatial puzzles.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team finds Draftosaurus to be a delightful light filler that's easy to teach to kids and casual players while still offering enough of a puzzle to keep adults engaged. The die-roll restriction mechanic is a clever twist on traditional drafting games. A quick, colorful, family-friendly hit.

  • Extremely quick to teach, ideal for kids and casual players.
  • Short 15-minute playtime allows for multiple rounds.
  • Die-roll restrictions add a clever twist to standard drafting.
  • Charming, colorful dinosaur theme appeals to all ages.

Keep in mind

  • Fairly simple with limited strategic depth for experienced gamers.
  • Some player interaction feels indirect rather than confrontational.
