About the game
Concept Kids: Animals adapts the popular Concept guessing game for children who can't yet read. One child uses colorful pawns on illustrated icons to give clues about an animal, while the rest of the group works together to guess it. With no words needed, kids build communication and reasoning skills as they connect pictorial hints to real animals. Drawing 12 cards each round, the group cooperates to identify as many animals as possible for a shared score.
Hobbli's Notes
This is a thoughtful, kid-friendly reimagining of Concept that keeps the clever icon-based clue system while making it fully cooperative and pre-reading-friendly. The gorgeous animal illustrations make it visually engaging for young children. Because everyone wins or loses together, it avoids the frustration of competitive deduction games for younger players. It's an easy, low-pressure way to introduce kids to communication and deduction games.
What we like
- Fully cooperative format is friendly for young children.
- No reading required thanks to the icon-based clue system.
- Beautiful animal illustrations engage kids visually.
- Supports very large groups of up to twelve players.
Keep in mind
- Limited challenge or depth for older children or adults.
- Cooperative-only format lacks competitive replay variety.
- A short 20-minute playtime means less sustained engagement.
Who it's for
Perfect for families with young children ages 4-8 who want a cooperative, picture-based guessing game for large groups.
