About the game

Caesar & Cleopatra is a tense two-player card game in which one player, as Caesar, pushes for Rome to invade Egypt while the other, as Cleopatra, fights to keep it independent. Players send numbered agent cards face-up or face-down to influence groups of Roman officials, using action cards like assassins and scouts to disrupt each other's plans. As voting cards are revealed, whichever side holds the most influence wins over that official, with the game ending once all groups have picked a side. Set in ancient Rome, it blends hand management, bluffing, and area-influence over a roughly 60-minute session.

Hobbli's Notes

A sharp little duel that rewards reading your opponent's bluffs as much as playing your own hand well. It's compact and portable, making it a reliable go-to for date nights or quick two-player sessions between heavier games.

What we like

  • Tight, focused two-player strategic card play.
  • Clever bluffing system via face-up or face-down agent placement.
  • Historical Roman-Egyptian theme adds flavor.
  • Quick roughly 60-minute playtime.

Keep in mind

  • Strictly two-player, so it can't be used with larger groups.
  • Theme feels somewhat abstracted from the actual mechanics.
  • Card draw variance can swing individual games.

Who it's for

Ideal for two players aged 10 and up who enjoy tight, bluff-driven card duels with a historical theme.
