About the game

Paperback fuses word games with deckbuilding, casting players as authors racing to complete novels for an eager editor. Starting with a deck of letter cards, players form words each hand and use their score to purchase more powerful letters with special abilities, from drawing extra cards to doubling letter values. Points come from acquiring wild cards, creating a satisfying push toward ever-stronger vocabulary decks. A cooperative variant lets word-game fans team up instead of compete. It's a clever, accessible mashup for anyone who loves both spelling and deckbuilding.

Hobbli's Notes

Designer Tim Fowers nails the crossover appeal here: word game fans get the deckbuilding hook, and deckbuilder fans get a fresh spelling twist. The letter abilities add just enough crunch to keep repeat plays interesting. A great gateway deckbuilder for wordy families.
