About the game
Android: Netrunner is an asymmetric two-player card game pitting a megacorporation, advancing secret agendas, against a lone hacker runner trying to breach servers and steal data. Corporations install ice to defend servers while runners build rigs of programs to break through defenses. Bluffing, resource management, and precise timing define the tense back-and-forth. It's widely regarded as one of the best asymmetric card games ever designed.
Hobbli's Notes
This remains a benchmark for two-player card games years after going out of print, thanks to its razor-sharp asymmetry and endless deckbuilding depth. Fan-supported tournaments and print-and-play communities keep it very much alive.
What we like
- Deeply asymmetric factions create very different play experiences.
- High skill ceiling with rich bluffing and resource decisions.
- Fast, tense turns despite significant underlying strategic depth.
- Strong competitive and tournament scene, even post-print.
Keep in mind
- Steep learning curve, especially understanding both sides of play.
- Large card pool can overwhelm players new to the game.
- Officially out of print, making complete sets harder to acquire.
Who it's for
