About the game

Tajemnicze Domostwo is a fully cooperative game for 2-7 players: the original Polish edition of what would become the internationally acclaimed Mysterium. One player takes on the role of a mute ghost haunting an old manor, communicating clues only through evocative vision cards, while the rest play psychics trying to solve the mystery of the ghost's death. Over seven in-game days and nights, the psychics must piece together the culprit, location, and weapon before time runs out. If they succeed, everyone wins together.

Hobbli's Notes

This is the source material for Mysterium, and it's just as atmospheric: the wordless, image-based clue-giving creates wonderful 'aha!' moments around the table. It's a rare cooperative game that gives one player a truly distinct, satisfying role as the silent ghost. A great choice for groups who love Dixit-style abstract art and mystery-solving together.

What we like

  • Wonderfully atmospheric ghost-communication mechanic.
  • Fully cooperative, so everyone wins or loses together.
  • Scales well from small to large groups (2-7 players).
  • Beautiful, dreamlike artwork drives the vision-card clues.

Keep in mind

  • The ghost player can find their role frustrating if clues are hard to convey.
  • Group size and communication style affect how well it plays.
  • Play experience is essentially identical to the later Mysterium release.

Who it's for

Great for families and mixed groups (8+) of 2-7 who enjoy cooperative deduction and atmospheric mystery-solving.
