About the game
Joan of Arc: Orléans Draw & Write adapts the beloved Orléans drafting system into a roll-and-write style game for 1 to 5 players. Each round, players draft follower tiles and mark off matching actions on their personal sheet, gathering goods, building, trading, and earning victory points. A built-in solo mode pits you against Joan of Arc herself at one of three difficulty levels. It's an accessible, portable way to enjoy Orléans-style drafting without the tableau of components.
Hobbli's Notes
Fans of Orléans will feel right at home here, with the same satisfying drafting puzzle translated cleanly onto a scoresheet. It's a great lighter, more portable alternative to the original, and the solo mode against Joan of Arc is a nice bonus for anyone playing alone.
What we like
- Faithfully translates Orléans-style drafting to a paper format.
- Strong solo mode with adjustable difficulty.
- Portable and easy to set up compared to the original.
- Scales cleanly from solo up to five players.
Keep in mind
- Fans wanting the physical tableau of the original may miss it.
- Roll-and-write fatigue can set in with repeated plays.
Who it's for
Good for Euro-game fans age 12+ who enjoy drafting puzzles, in groups of 1-5, including solid solo play.
