About the game
Ceres is set in the year 2219, when Mars has long been colonized and attention has shifted to the dwarf planet Ceres, home to a booming asteroid-mining industrial complex. Players lead an Asteroid Mining Corporation across three rounds, launching mining probes, trading raw materials, constructing and upgrading facilities, and researching technology to outplay rival corporations. Co-developed with an astrophysicist for scientific authenticity, it layers tech-tree progression onto a worker-placement foundation. Designed for 1-4 players, games run about 120 minutes of dense sci-fi strategy.
Hobbli's Notes
Ceres stands out among sci-fi worker-placement games for its genuine scientific grounding and the satisfying tech-tree progression across its three rounds. It's a hefty, engine-focused experience best suited to players who already enjoy heavier Euro strategy games.
