About the game

Mangrovia is a Caribbean-themed role-selection game where players compete to build the most huts along eight divine paths watched over by statues of the gods. A clever single-marker mechanism lets you choose two actions and their order, from collecting cards to placing huts or gathering amulets. Extra points come from controlling sacred locations and collecting amulets, which can also be spent to build on otherwise unaffordable spaces. As the board fills, choices tighten, rewarding players who plan their ritual site selections carefully.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team likes how Mangrovia's single-marker action and turn-order selection creates tight, meaningful tactical puzzles each round. Multiple viable paths to victory, from majority control to amulet collection, keep replays interesting. The listing's thin category data and the mechanism's initial learning curve mean we're only moderately confident recommending exact comparisons.
